Why do Prenatal Yoga...?

Yoga's relaxing blend of stretching, gentle toning, breathing exercises, meditation and relaxation are ideal for pregnant women. Yoga for pregnancy can help you to ease the aches and pains of pregnancy, including lower back, pelvic and hip pain, joint stiffness, poor circulation in legs and feet, and digestive problems.

The breathing practices and relaxation techniques of yoga will help you to unwind and let go of any worries you may have during your pregnancy. Pregnancy can be a stressful time both physically and mentally, whether you are preparing for the life-changing first baby or preparing to adapt your existing family life to accept a new little bundle of joy, you will have a lot to think about and organise, and yoga can offer you a chance to get "out of your head", unwind, and spend a little time on yourself.

Prenatal yoga will also help you to prepare for the birth of your baby. We look at postures that prepare the body for an active birth in which you are able to allow your body to open and release your child into the world in the best way possible for you. We look at postures, breathing techniques and visualisations you can use for labour and birth, and explore the role partners can play in helping you to achieve the type of birth you are hoping for. Yoga increases your own physical and mental self-awareness, helping you to understand the vast abilities and also the limits of your own body and mind, so that you can feel empowered during pregnancy and birth to know what is right for you.

My Prenatal Yoga sessions are designed to help you maintain a sense of ease in your body, reduce stress and anxiety, and prepare for your new arrival. Prenatal yoga is a fantastic way to take time for yourself and your baby, during the ups and downs of pregnancy.
